RL has been busy, and some things are in the works, but you should check out this place….cool little coffee shop/sim and related to what’s in the works. Check it out in world now and catch one of their concerts, they have one or two every weeknight.

So, it’s time to look back at 2008 and take a first blush reaction at the favorite thing I created. If I have to list just one thing it’s gotta be my Insulin Pump. I love the fact that I created something that is a real education tool I don’t sell it, it’s just there to grab and hopefully bring a part of identity from the real world into the virtual self. Plus I got hot avatars to pose with it!!!! Some of them look like this!

If I’m talking about projects, I was very proud of Endless Nights, even though it didn’t last I was happy to do a low lag rp sim and enjoyed it. Not to mention the Natalis sim! I love my home/business in Second Life and I hope to have exciting news on that front soon. (Shhh, don’t tell anyone, but we will soon have a full sim and may have rental opportunities if you like my style of building, you may luck out.)

As far as IDG goes, it’s been difficult. We haven’t sold much the last few months and it’s hurt. I understand that’s just the economy right now, and I’ve been frustrated, I owe a huge thank you to all my partner designers and other friends who pulled me out of my funk and said I needed to keep going, The social aspect of this is really why I do what I do and I wouldn’t have made it without them. Some of them have joined me as designers this year and they are growing leaps and bounds. So thank you to all of you, if you don’t know who you are that’s my error and remind me to make up for it!

Second Inventory

So with the whole OpenSpaces aka Void Sim debacle I started looking at options, one of the open sim places I looked at was fairly good but I’ll talk about that another time and it’s still not ready for primetime. But in the course of looking for alternative building areas I came across the question we all have… how do I move items back and forth? The only real solution I found was Second Inventory. It has it’s quirks but it does work. For a legitimate use of moving your own creations to other worlds this is a legitimate tool, though it takes a long time to work for each item. More info is available on their site but I managed to move a full copy of my house to my OpenSim sandbox and it looked just like it did in SL. Pretty neat, if you can put up with the headaches. It also has the side benefit of being able to perform batch uploads of textures, something I’ve been wanting in SL client for ages.
